Did you know we can come to you onsite at your local car lot?
For your convenience, we offer onsite car lot inspections on Thursdays. Simply email inspections@kentoncounty.org before 2 p.m. on the Wednesday prior with copies of out-of-state titles for vehicles needing inspection. Include an image of a valid employee’s driver’s license who will be present at time of inspection as well as a contact phone number.
An onsite fee plus a fee per inspected vehicle is payable by check (to Kenton County Sheriff) or by exact change cash.
Here are few "must haves" to make the process more seamless:
- Vehicles must be "road worthy," meaning no cracked windshields blocking a driver's vision.
- Salvage vehicles must pass safety requirements.
- Vehicles should be grouped together with keys at the ready.
- All original documents should be on hand.
Dates for lot inspections may vary depending on holidays, and staffing. We start at 9:30 a.m. and work from the southern part of the County to the northern end. We will call ahead before arriving.
If you have five vehicles or less, call 859-392-1800 and a deputy will come out.
